The pirates had a hideout in the cove, these were modern day pirates and who would have thought they existed.  The world has enlarged with tech opportunities and they are not all beneficial.  Someone had made a virtual cove and was conducting piracy, of what I don’t know!  Whatever the ships that passed had they wanted. It was a…a….a dream game..

Unexpected gift

She watched the posters, beautiful bouquet of flowers and the Valentine cards on display.  For a moment or two she totally forgot why she had come into the store as she lovingly remembered the events of the year before and what could have been.  Then she heard a voice behind her, as she turned she noticed it was Shirley from her class with a bouquet which seemed too big for her little hands.

“Miss this is for you, to say thanks for helping me and we are moving so I won’t be seeing you”, spoke Shirley.  “Oh! thank you so much for this but why didn’t you say anything about this at school?” Miss Cynthia Morris said looking at Shirley and her Dad who stood behind the little girl.

“We didn’t want to make a big thing of it and as you are her private tutor too we are letting you know first then the school,” Shirley’s Dad added, “actually we went to the house and was told you would be here, we were coming to shop for the journey tomorrow anyway”.

“So what’s the rush, just when Shirley is settling in well with her work and friends too?, Miss Cynthia questioned.

“Well these things happen,” came the reply.

“I hope all is well with this family,” she thought and made a mental note to check on Shirley’s school history.

Happy winners

How would you like it, if you automatically get entered in every competition you set your eyes on?  Wouldn’t that be so funny?  Actually it might be frightening too because you would think it is almost science fiction. The number of people  reading newspapers and watching television are numerous,  and if every one was entered in the competitions there would be many surprised winners.  Happy winners nonetheless too, as everyone likes to be a winner.

First sight

The interior of the castle was so unexpected, it had been designed with futuristic decor.

“What did you expect?”, asked the Curator.

“Well, I expected the place would have been as Henry V of Agincourt had it, ” said the little girl.

“How old are you child?” one of the tourist asked.

“As old as the battlements,” came the reply and everyone turned to stare at her.

Calm of the sea

The calm of the sea was deceiving because the currents underneath, where our eyes didn’t reach was very fast.  As we struggled to swim to the shore a family of dolphins came by and helped us.  Nudging us with their noses, it tickled but it was no time to laugh rather a time to be grateful and we truly were.   What an act of love and caring and we can learn a lot from this.

A peaceful wait

Oh Lord how long shall I wait?

“Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power.”  Ephesians 3:7 King James Version

Consider that whoever we are, while we are waiting in our jobs or in our capacity among family, friends, groups  and in our environment whatever role(s) we have, we have been given these as a ministry that should not be misused.

Be peaceful and have a peaceful day because Our Lord Jesus Christ has been waiting longer on us to draw nearer to him so he can draw near to us.
