The sun was hot and competition intense, for the man who could carve a bear out of the newly felled tree would be the first and winner of the coveted prize.

The electric saw was making loud sounds, the bare chested farmers worked hard. The sweat formed rivulets falling from their faces and working their way down the neck to their chests.  The wives stood at a near enough distance ready to celebrate.  The silence, the anticipation was unreal.
