A Dress for Summer

I used to make a point of sewing a dress each summer.  It was something I enjoyed doing and this was many many years ago.  I learnt to sewq by helping my Mum and did sewing lessons at school and at a Singer Sewing Club.  One thing I struggled with is putting on the zip.  However there was a great satisfaction when I achieved it.  Then I got crafty and chose patterns that didn’t need a zip!

A jolt, a song and a Birthday breakfast.

Jolt

I felt the jolt, as I was in deep sleep I thought it was a dream.  Then came another and another, so it wasn’t a dream after all.  I distinctively heard children’s voices singing “Happy Birthday to you Mum, Happy Birthday to you Mum ” and they added their own verse, “Wake up and eat your breakfast”.  At this point I started yawning and stretching, with the aroma of a delicious English Breakfast and the children’s happy faces, I didn’t need any convincing.  I thanked, hugged and kissed each of them and winked at my husband who had supervised their morning endeavours.

Cranky kids

Ever been shopping and if not yours but another parent’s kid gets cranky and screams?  I always put it done to a very tired kid who has just had enough of shopping.  What do you think and have you ever been the parent with the cranky kid?  I have had a little taste of this and more of trying to catch up with the  ‘100 metre dash’ through the store aisles..
