When the light of the day opens,
There’s ringing in our ears,
I don’t mean tinnitus.
Yes these are alarm clocks
And in- built natural calls.
I hear more than millions,
“Say five more minutes”
Before we roll out of our beds,
And we go to our calling and jobs,
Schools and leisure places.
When the light makes way for the darkness,
Night is upon us
And more millions wake up
To do the same as was done in the daytime,
For we are settled in a 24 hour non-stop day.
But no matter the fires or lights we make or invent
With wood, flint, gas, electricity and other,
We cannot completely ever erase the darkness.
Day is day as it is to light,
Night is night as it is to darkness.
One thought on “Day is day, Night is night.”
